About us

Cl.uster A.grifood N.azionale (CL.A.N.) is a widely recognised multi-stakeholder association in the agri-food sector that brings together companies, trade associations, universities, research organisations, training bodies and local representatives operating in the agri-food sector.

It was set up to promote, defend and boost development of the agri-food industry, from agricultural production to processing and related industrial sectors, by driving innovation, publicising research results, creating new skills and fostering collaboration between research, businesses, institutions and public administration.

Since 2019, the Italian Ministry for Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) has acknowledged the role played by CL.A.N. as a steering committee and a single point of contact for relations with national and European institutions regarding research and innovation in the agri-food sector.

Board of Directors

The association is administered by the Board of Directors, which acts as a steering and management body with the broadest powers of ordinary and extraordinary management. Technical and Scientific Committee

The Technical and Scientific Committee is the association's advisory and scientific body, acting as a technological observatory, providing training and guidance, and proposing development scenarios and project activities. It is made up of two “Research” advisors and fifteen members elected by the assembly, as representatives of the three categories comprising the cluster: six from the “Businesses” category, six from the “Research” category and three from the “Local area” category.

Assembly

The association’s assembly is composed of a representative formally designated by each member fully up-to-date with the payment of fees and contributions. The assembly may be ordinary or extraordinary. The main powers of the ordinary assembly include the election of the President (art. 16 of the Articles of Association), the members of the Board of Directors (art. 18 of the Articles of Association), the members of the Technical and Scientific Committee (art. 21 of the Articles of Association) and the Sole Auditor (art. 26 of the Articles of Association); approval of the association’s main lines of action on the basis of the indications provided by the Board of Directors, approval of the association’s budget and balance sheet and decisions regarding the admission, censure and exclusion of members as proposed by the Board of Directors.

Sole Auditor

The auditor is responsible for monitoring the association’s administrative management, supervising the observance of the law and of the Articles of Association and ascertaining that the association’s accounts are properly kept.
